Newsletter: June 2003
Dr. Larry Speaks OutIn these presentations, Dr. Larry finishes with two messages for the participants to take away with them: First is the message of "Hope" -- regardless of one's health challenges, there is always hope; the second is "Taking Responsibility" for one's own health by building up your own fences (of prevention). Dr. Larry will be addressing the Lion's Club Dinner/Meeting on June 3rd.
As well as his speaking engagements, Dr. Larry sponsored, provided prizes for and ran in the "Orca" running club's 10k Run. Regarding how he did in the run, Dr. Larry says, "I finished just minutes behind the leader. How many minutes, I'm not saying!"
Continuing EducationHe is also learning new techniques and methods to complement his treatment disciplines. In April he attended the "Activator" seminar in Calgary. He said, "This seminar seemed appropriate to me as our office has received several inquiries about this technique during the past few years. I have dedicated this issue of our newsletter to informing our readers about this technique. I am also including their website address so you may research it further if you should wish to do so." What is the Activator Methods Technique? The Activator Method is the second most popular chiropractic technique in the world. Activator Methods Technique is a gentle, low-force program of chiropractic care. It has been safely used for over 35 years to benefit people with a wide range of health problems -- without drugs or surgery! In the late 1960's, this revolutionary chiropractic technique was developed to improve safety and comfort for the chiropractic patients. Since then, the technique has grown to be the most widely-used "low-force" chiropractic technique in the world. The Activator Technique incorporates the latest advances in orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic examinations along with a unique system of administering spinal adjustments. Using the Activator analysis and the Activator instrument, your chiropractor can help restore spinal balance, safely and comfortably. Doctors of Chiropractic receive extensive training in the Activator Technique. This method is also one of the most scientifically researched technique in chiropractic. You may think that chiropractic care is only for back and neck pain. The truth is, chiropractic care can benefit a wide variety of health problems that stem from the dysfunction of your spinal joints and nervous system. Everyday wear and tear, old injuries, and even stress can cause your vertebrae to lose their proper motion or position. Spinal joint dysfunction may be a source of irritation to your nervous system, causing pain and nerve interference throughout your body. The Activator Technique works well for children because it is quick and easy. Even young children who may have problems keeping still typically have no problems with Activator adjustments. Many even look forward to their next visit. Elderly patients benefit from the Activator Technique as well. The unique Activator adjustment offers a more gentle and effective care approach for elderly patients who suffer from degeneration, arthritis, and osteoporosis. How does the Activator Adjusting Instrument work? To address spinal joint dysfunction, we use an instrument called the Activator. This unique hand-held instrument was scientifically designed to give you a very specific. "low-force" adjustment. The Activator instrument delivers a controlled, light, and fast thrust, without causing undue strain to patients. Activator adjustments are so quick and controlled, your body's muscles are less likely to resist, allowing for a more precise and exact adjustment. One of the unique features of the Activator Technique is that we can zero in on the exact area of the body that is causing your health problems. All this and more can be found at: www.activator.com. Ending again with some words of wisdom: "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right!" Henry Ford (1863-1947)
