Sincere and warm holiday greetings from Dr. Larry and Nancy.

OUR YEAR IN REVIEW

2003 was a very busy and productive year for us.

Dr. Larry presented information to various groups in the community. Prompted by the Romanow report, Dr. Larry developed a new seminar focused on the importance of "Preventative Health Care". Later in the year, he put together a seminar based upon "The Benefits of Core Stabilization", which is a topic he addresses to our patients daily. As the benefits are particularly important for people who suffer from low back pain, this seminar included a "how-to" by personal trainer, Doug Pickard of The Fitness Connection, on the proper use of the Fit Ball as a highly effective way to strengthen these core muscle groups.

Dr. Larry went to Calgary in the spring and received the necessary training on The Activator Method Technique. He has been able to apply his training to many of our patients who require a slightly more subtle form of spinal adjustments. The Activator is "the second most popular chiropractic technique in the world". (see June Newsletter for more information.)

In July we added an evening session to our regular office hours.

The article Dr. Larry wrote titled, "Will Running Cause Arthritis?" was syndicated with the Glucosamine Information Centre.

The September Newsletter that Nancy wrote about the Premium Assistance Program available through MSP of B.C. was picked up by The P.Q. News and generated over 100 calls to the office for more information and/or forms.

Dr. Larry ran the Victoria Marathon during that very cold and windy Thanksgiving weekend in October.

November's Newsletter ran the news about Dr. Larry going to Cuba.

It has truly been a full and exciting year!

OUR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY HOURS

Dr. Larry is leaving for Cuba on December 11. Our office will be closed beginning December 11th and will reopen on Tuesday, January 6th, 2004, at 9:00 a.m. Nancy will be in the office for some of that time to book appointments and respond to messages left on the answering machine.

WEBSITE UPDATE

There has been some changes to our website. All Newsletters are now available for viewing at the site; The Manga Report, which is the paper the Dr. Larry will be presenting to the medical community in Cuba, is also now available through the website.

Another new direction we are taking has to do with this newsletter. Beginning in January, we will now be sending our subscribers a notice that the latest issue of our newsletter is available, and we will give the link to click on that will take you to it directly at our website. This will give us a lot more opportunity to provide a more professional and, hopefully, a more interesting format for our monthly editions.

CHRISTMAS GIFT SUGGESTION

How about giving someone you care about the gift of health for Christmas (or anytime)? A Gift Certificate for a chiropractic treatment for a loved-one is a wonderful way of showing you care. Ask Nancy for details.

CLIFF-HANGER

Wait until you see what's new in our office for next year! (And that's all I'm going to tell you for now.)

That's it for this year. Enjoy the holidays. Enjoy your loved ones. Be kind to yourselves and by all means be careful...remember: It's a jingle out there!
